The Mortgage Bankers Association of Louisville is comprised of bankers, brokers, loan officers and processors involved in the business of mortgage banking in the Louisville area.

The mission of the organization is simple - to promote the interests of those engaged in the mortgage banking business and to safeguard and protect the borrower and investors.

Membership
Membership is open to those engaged in mortgage lending and having an office in Kentucky or the following counties in Southern Indiana: Clark, Floyd, Harrison or Jefferson. The organization offers both individual and company memberships.

Here is the current fee structure:
Corporate Member $350 annually (plus a one-time $200 initiation fee)
Individual Member $175 annually (plus a one-time $100 initiation fee)
Associate Member $350 annually (plus a one-time $200 initiation fee)

Dues are billed annually at the beginning of the year. New members dues are pro-rated depending on the month of initiation.

Organization
The Mortgage Bankers Association of Louisville is an affiliate of both the Mortgage Bankers Association of Kentucky and the national Mortgage Bankers Association. The local organization is governed by a nine-member Board of Directors comprised of four officers, one at-large member and four active past presidents.

Networking
The organization hosts monthly luncheon meetings featuring guest speakers on topics of interest to the industry and the organization. The luncheon meetings are traditionally held on the second Wednesday of every month.

Education
In addition to the monthly luncheon speakers, Mortgage Bankers Association of Louisville produces educational seminars throughout the year to help mortgage bankers gain the continuing education credits now required by the state of Kentucky. MBA of Louisville also offers motivational speakers throughout the year as well as FHA and VA training.

Legislative Voice
MBA provides lobbying efforts that provide the real estate finance industry with a voice in Frankfort, on Capitol Hill, and with the federal regulatory agencies.

Trends and Information
Timely updates on events and issues affecting real estate finance as well as the production and dissemination of the latest industry research.

Web Site
An exciting new Web site has been launched for MBA Louisville. The site will eventually contain information about the monthly events and other information pertinent to the organization and mortgage banking industry.
